Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapy
Pediatric physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy services are given to patients to improve their ability to become independent. Sunrise Childrens Hospital employs a team of therapists with specialized pediatric training to address all patients therapy concerns.
What is Physical Therapy?
Physical therapy works with mobility including sitting, walking, balance, stair training and developmental aspects including crawling.
Whay is occupational Therapy?
Occupational therapy helps with daily living skills, hand function and developmental aspects including coordination during play.
What is Speech Therapy?
Speech therapy will help with communication and feeding skills.
All three therapies work and coordinate together to help the child enhance their abilities.
In the NICU there is a developmental team that works with the babies to encourage appropriate development and to make sure the families are comfortable interacting with their child to promote appropriate growth.
