Surgery Preparation
Preparing Your Child for Surgery / Pre-Surgery Orientation and Tour
If your child is having surgery, we recommend you schedule a pre-surgical visit. Through the Sunrise Children’s Hospital pre-surgical orientation program, you and your child can learn more about the procedure, ask questions and tour the surgery department. This unique program helps identify fears and misconceptions your child may be having. Research shows that children who are prepared for surgery cope better before, during and after surgery. Orientation can be scheduled days or weeks in advance to accommodate the needs of your family.
To schedule your pre-surgical orientation call Kimberly at 702-836-3864.
Can’t make it the hospital for orientation? Watch the "Preparing for Surgery at Sunrise Children’s Hospital" video to help you and your child get ready for the upcoming surgery.
